About PlatformFinder

Why I built it

It started with a phone call from my daughter.

She had just started her apprenticeship in London and was travelling by train for the first time. Almost every morning she would call me from the station: “Dad, which platform do I need?”

It should have been easy to find, but it wasn’t. Platform information was scattered across different apps and websites, often outdated, incomplete, or missing completely — especially when changing between National Rail and TfL services.

So I decided to build something better.

PlatformFinder shows you live platform numbers for every leg of your journey — whether you’re travelling on National Rail, the Underground, Elizabeth line, Overground, or any combination of them. All in one simple place.

No sign-up. No clutter. Just clear, useful information when you need it most.

PlatformFinder is built and run by me, a dad from North London, powered by National Rail Enquiries and TfL Open Data — and a lot of love for my daughter.
